CR-Z Gets the Mugen Treatment

October 22nd, 2012 by

We here at White Plains Honda have been counting down the days until the official unveiling of the next-gen Honda CR-Z at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. And now that the Big H has finally spilled the beans on the updated sport hybrid coupe, all seems to have calmed on the CR-Z front…or has it?

The automotive tuners at Mugen have a keen eye for spotting a vehicle with serious aftermarket potential, and that’s precisely why they couldn’t wait to get their hands on the all-new CR-Z. The newly created 2013 Honda CR-Z Mugen RZ features roughly 20 upgrades to its interior, exterior, and powertrain.

But what do they include, you ask? Here’s a small sampling:

Exterior: features an Azure Blue Metallic paintjob w/ adjustable front spoiler and LED illumination, side spoilers, and rear under spoiler.
Interior: fitted with custom upholstery to match the exterior paintjob, as well as a CFRP shift knob and boost meter.
Powertrain: equipped with a newly developed super charger that brings total output to 153 horsepower.

With these kind of upgrades, it’s no wonder demand for the 2013 Honda CR-Z Mugen RZ is already skyrocketing in Japan. Unfortunately, however, that’s where the new version will stay since its production is currently limited to 300 units.

Of course, if you’re interested in unlocking the true aftermarket potential of your new or used Honda, you always have White Plains Honda, serving the greater New Rochelle area, as a resource. Our Honda parts department at 344 Central Ave. White Plains, NY 10606 is happy to talk to you about your customization options.
