Honda Vezel Coming Soon to White Plains Honda

January 9th, 2014 by

Coming in 2016, our preferred Japanese automaker will launch the new Honda Vezel subcompact crossover on our shores. Slotted just below the CR-V, this is a model that Honda has quite a few hopes and dreams riding on.

Why do we say that? Well, for one, its production allotment will be at least half of the capacity of Honda’s new Mexican plant. On top of that, it’s also proved rather popular in the Japanese market. There’s even a three-month long wait for drivers to obtain the new subcompact.

This surge in popularity isn’t surprising given the Vezel’s roots in the Fit. The new crossover sports several similar aspects, such as its driving dynamics and front end. If the idea of an enlarged Fit is weird to you, don’t let it get to you. Honda’s done it before when it based the CR-V off of the Civic.

The Vezel will be offered with a brand new 1.5-liter four cylinder engine, with a possible turbocharging option as a matter of speculation. We do know that there will be a hybrid option available in Japan, but as is the case with the 2015 Fit we’re set to see in Detroit, whether that tech makes it over here is up in the air.
